Adding Emmet makes it like Sublime-you can use a similar color scheme (though npp will always seem more bulky).
It does a lot so it has a bit of a learning curve. I resisted Notepad++ at first, but now I'm using Grunt and npp is my editor. I tried Corel PaintShop Pro X2 and hated it (though someone else here likes X6 so maybe it improved). I went from psp5 to 8 and didn't go back once I got used to it. I still use psp8 on windows 10 with no problems (occasionally crashes).
